About The Pause

Hi, I’m Shelley!

I’m a wife, mom, and business owner with over 30 years of experience as a nurse—and my own firsthand journey through the ups and downs of perimenopause. Like many women, I felt unprepared and overwhelmed when menopause symptoms began, and I often felt dismissed when seeking answers. That experience led me to become a Menopause Health Coach, helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause with clarity, confidence, and support.

My mission is simple: to empower women with the right education, practical tools, and encouragement so you can make informed choices about your health, feel good in your own skin, and embrace this stage of life with strength and resilience.

My Story

When I first began experiencing perimenopause symptoms, I didn’t recognize them for what they were. I struggled with anxiety, worsening ADHD, oddly itchy ears, and significant weight gain around my abdomen. Because it was early 2020, I assumed it was stress from COVID.

As the months went on, these symptoms started affecting my relationships and daily life. I finally sought medical help, but was told it was just “part of middle age” and encouraged to push through. I was even offered anxiety medication, which I declined.

That moment sparked something in me. I knew women deserved more than being brushed aside.

I turned to a functional health provider who listened, validated my experience, and helped me regain control of my health. That’s when I realized how powerful it is to have someone on your side—an advocate who helps you see the bigger picture and gives you tools to thrive.

Why I Became a Menopause Health Coach

Since 2023, I’ve been helping women through perimenopause and menopause coaching. I see menopause as a complex puzzle, and every piece matters—whether it’s education, lifestyle strategies, or encouragement.

Supporting women through this transition is not just about easing symptoms—it’s about women’s wellness in midlife and beyond. My goal is to help you:

  • Understand what’s happening in your body

  • Feel confident and informed about your choices

  • Reclaim your energy, balance, and well-being

  • Navigate perimenopause and menopause on your own terms

If I can make even one woman feel less alone, more empowered, and more supported, then my work is meaningful.

You don’t have to “just push through.” You deserve to feel understood, validated, and equipped to thrive in this next chapter of life.
